RESTDriven Terms of Service

Last updated: 26-06-2026

These terms govern your use of the RESTDriven services.

1. Interpretation

The terms in Section 2 (General Terms) apply to all users, including both RapidAPI users and demo users. The terms in Section 3 (Demo App) apply only to users of the demo app.

Definitions

These definitions apply throughout these terms.

  • RESTDriven — The provider of both the API and the demo app.
  • Services — Includes both the API and demo app.
  • API — The RapidAPI API, or the backend API used directly by the demo app (https://api.restdriven.com).
  • Demo app — The demo app hosted at https://demo.restdriven.com.
  • User — Any person or entity that accesses the Services.
  • Commercial use — Use of the Services in connection with any revenue-generating or business activity, whether or not directly for profit.

2. General Terms

These terms apply to all users, including RapidAPI and demo users.

RESTDriven’s API services provide access to publicly available data, and as such RESTDriven cannot provide any guarantees on the reliability, accuracy, or completeness of the data. Any use of the data is at the user’s own risk, and RESTDriven accepts no liability in regards to any damages caused by the use of the data or Services to the extent permitted by applicable law.

While we aim to maximise uptime to the best of our ability, the service is maintained on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantees on the availability of our services.

We may, from time to time, offer paid tiers for our services. These paid services are subject to the same terms as the free tier unless stated otherwise.

Users who access the API through RapidAPI do so subject to RapidAPI’s own terms of service in addition to these terms. In the event of any conflict, RapidAPI’s terms govern the marketplace relationship (including billing and account management), and these terms govern use of the API and the data it provides.

RapidAPI may impose its own charges in connection with your use of the API — including, for example, bandwidth fees — that are set and collected by RapidAPI and are outside of RESTDriven’s control. RESTDriven is not responsible for any such charges, and you are solely responsible for understanding and meeting the costs that apply to your RapidAPI usage.

Logging

We log all requests made to our service. These logs may contain the IP address of the caller as well as the request path.

We generally strip the query part of the request from logging (for example, searchbyname?text=whatever is logged as searchbyname). We reserve the right to temporarily log query strings in full to assist in investigating problems with the service or investigating abuse.

These logs may be stored for up to 90 days.

We may also store error logs for the services. These are generated when a request fails or behaves unexpectedly and usually contain only technical details such as error messages and stack traces. Where necessary to diagnose a problem, they may also include additional information from the request — such as the URL and its query string, specific headers, or the request body — but only what is needed to investigate the issue. Error logs may be stored for up to 90 days.

Note that RapidAPI automatically logs all requests made through their platform, including query strings, independently of our logging practices. By using the service through RapidAPI you agree to RapidAPI’s logging notwithstanding the clause above. That retention period is set by RapidAPI — 7 days for detailed request data, per their docs at the time of writing.

We may store your data beyond the period stated above if we are required to do so by law.

Acceptable Use

  • Users may not use the API for any purpose that is prohibited by law.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Services, including the collection, storage, and processing of any personal data obtained through the Services, complies with all applicable data protection and privacy laws.
  • Users may not attempt to bypass any rate limits by any means (including using multiple accounts).
  • Users may not systematically retrieve, store, or redistribute data from the service in order to reproduce, or build a substitute for, a substantial part of the underlying dataset, regardless of whether that data is otherwise publicly available.
  • We may terminate any user’s access to the services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe the user has used the services in a manner inconsistent with these terms.

The data provided through the Services is derived from publicly available sources and is subject to the copyright and licensing notices of those sources. Users are responsible for complying with these notices, and for reproducing any required attribution where the data is redistributed or published. These include the following:

3. Demo App

These terms apply to the demo app hosted at https://demo.restdriven.com.

  • The demo app requires sign-in via GitHub. Personal data associated with your use of the demo app is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • The demo app may only be used for non-commercial use.
  • The use of the demo app by a commercial entity shall be considered non-commercial use for the purposes of this section if said entity uses it exclusively for evaluation.
  • The demo app is offered on a free trial basis. The demo app will indicate to the user how much of their trial period remains.
  • To keep track of whether a free trial has already been used, we store a one-way hash of your GitHub user ID. We retain this hash permanently — including after you stop using the demo app or delete your account — and use it solely to enforce the free-trial limit.
  • We reserve the right to terminate access to the demo app for any or all persons, with or without notice.
  • Users shall not attempt to bypass the free trial restrictions.
  • Users shall not reverse-engineer or modify the demo app.
  • Users shall not attempt to access the underlying API other than through the demo app’s intended interface.

4. Termination

  • You may stop using the Services at any time.
  • We may suspend, restrict, or terminate any user’s access to the Services at any time, with or without notice (see also the rights set out in Sections 2 and 3). We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services, in whole or in part, at any time.
  • Termination or discontinuation does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before it took effect.
  • The following continue to apply after termination: the disclaimers and exclusions of liability in Section 2 (General Terms), Section 6 (Governing Law), and Section 7 (Dispute Resolution).

5. Changes to These Terms

  • Any changes to these terms will be made clear by editing the last updated date.
  • A link to the previous terms will also be provided.
  • An existing user agrees to be bound by the new terms 30 days after the new terms are released.
  • An existing user may refuse accepting the new terms by ceasing to use the services.
  • An existing user shall be immediately bound by the new terms if they change to a paid plan.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.

7. Dispute Resolution

  • Any dispute or difference arising out of or in connection with these terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity or termination, shall be referred to and determined under the Rules of the Scottish Arbitration Centre.
  • The seat of the arbitration shall be Scotland.
  • The number of arbitrators shall be one.
  • The language of the arbitration shall be English.
